China’s upcoming two sessions are set to announce important decisions regarding national policy, economic growth, and social stability. Highlighting the economic goals, reform measures, and foreign policies set for this year, these sessions will clarify China’s future development direction and its role on the international stage. This article will discuss key topics such as the stability of China’s economy, new development plans, and the “Peaceful China Initiative,” which will define China’s strategic priorities and policy decisions for the coming year.

Xi Jinping, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China’s Central Committee, Chaired a meeting of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China’s Central Committee on Friday. The meeting discussed the draft government work report to be presented at the upcoming National People’s Congress session.

This meeting, held just days before the annual two sessions, provided important positive signals regarding the direction of the Chinese economy and this year’s top priorities, as pointed out by economists and analysts.

It was noted in the meeting that China’s economy had made stable progress last year while maintaining overall stability. The country had made solid strides towards high-quality development and had taken firm steps towards Chinese modernization while maintaining social stability.

The meeting emphasized that, according to the plan of the Central Economic Work Conference, it is necessary to follow the general principle of making progress while maintaining stability and to fully and properly implement the new development vision across all fronts.

In addition, the meeting emphasized the need to accelerate the creation of a new development structure, strengthen high-quality development, deepen reforms, promote higher levels of openness, build a modern industrial system, and achieve better coordination between development and security.

The meeting stressed the importance of promoting economic recovery this year, improving people’s living standards, maintaining social harmony and stability, and achieving the goals and tasks of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) with high quality.

At China’s upcoming two sessions, social and economic development goals for this year will be determined, with the GDP growth target being one of the key areas of focus. Some economists estimate that the GDP growth target for 2025 may be set around 5%. China’s economy achieved a 5% growth target in 2024, which was undoubtedly based on the effectiveness of government economic measures. In this year’s “two sessions,” the draft government work report will announce more targeted policies to stimulate economic activities.

China has continuously focused on improving economic policies by prioritizing high-quality development and emphasizing reforms and openness. Along with this, special attention will be given to promoting innovation in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics.

The two sessions this year will also discuss important issues related to foreign policy, internal security, and social governance. The “Peaceful China Initiative” will be further emphasized to ensure the stability and security of the Chinese government, and attention will be focused on preventing various risks and threats.

Thus, China’s upcoming two sessions will clarify future policies and plans on both national and international platforms, with their impact not limited to China’s 1.4 billion citizens but extending globally.
