Russian President Vladimir Putin and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed held discussions

Russian President Vladimir Putin and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed held discussions on June 18th, 2025, focused on the rapidly escalating conflict between Iran and Israel. Both leaders conveyed deep concern about the intensifying situation, warning of its severe potential consequences for the entire Middle East region.
They jointly stressed the critical need for an immediate cessation of hostilities. Furthermore, Putin and MBZ emphasized that resolving the underlying issues related to Iran’s nuclear program requires significantly increased political and diplomatic efforts.
Putin specifically confirmed Russia’s readiness to act as a mediator to facilitate dialogue between the conflicting parties. He also informed the UAE President about his recent diplomatic contacts with other world leaders regarding the crisis.
Alongside the urgent regional security matters, the two presidents noted their satisfaction with the current high level of bilateral cooperation across political, trade, economic, and cultural spheres. They agreed to maintain direct personal contact moving forward.
