Warning to Prime Minister Karki on Nepal-China relations

Editorial

The government led by Prime Minister Sushila Karki has not responded to the formal memorandum submitted about Nepal-China friendship, non-alignment policy, and sovereign interests. Such silence is not just neglect; it is a serious sign that Nepal has lost control of its independent foreign policy.

Nepal’s history shows that non-alignment and friendship with China are the basis of the nation’s security and balance. Silence not only undermines trust, but also calls into question Nepal’s non-aligned identity in South Asia. Nepal needs to make a clear and firm policy decision in the current context of American pressure and the changing politics of neighboring India.

Prime Minister Karki must end her silence immediately. It is necessary to reaffirm Nepal-China friendship and the principle of non-alignment, while safeguarding national independence and diplomatic credibility. History registers silence as damage and betrayal; let Nepal not betray its own friends.
