Russian Embassy Holds Meeting with National Foundation for Development of Indigenous Nationalities

Kathmandu, – Diplomats from the Russian Embassy, along with Mrs. Anastasia Khokhlova, Director of the Russian House in Kathmandu, met with the leadership of the National Foundation for Development of Indigenous Nationalities (NFDIN), a body of the Government of Nepal responsible for the comprehensive empowerment of over 60 ethnic groups in the country.

During a warm and friendly conversation, the parties emphasized the special importance of preserving the traditional values and cultures of the peoples of Russia and Nepal. They shared plans for future events and discussed potential cooperation. The diplomatic officials also recalled the launch of Russian photographer Denis Knyazev’s project, “Weddings of the World: Cultural Heritage,” in the Himalayan republic, which could make a significant contribution to preserving the spiritual heritage of the Nepali nation.

At the end of the meeting, participants exchanged materials that will help in better understanding the historical and civilizational identities of the two countries and agreed to continue constructive communication.
