Both Shows Canceled, Future Uncertain: Ayumi Hamasaki’s Asia Tour Hit by Setbacks

Japanese superstar Ayumi Hamasaki’s Asia Tour 2025 is facing consecutive setbacks. Shortly after her Shanghai concert was canceled due to “force majeure,” her scheduled show in Macau for January has also been called off. Hamasaki announced this news via social media and apologized to the fans who had been eagerly waiting.

She posted an emotional message on Instagram, writing, “My entire team and I will no longer be able to bring you the performance in Macau… I sincerely apologize to everyone who was looking forward to it. However, I will never give up on the future. Our bond is eternal.”
Hamasaki’s Shanghai concert was announced as canceled on November 28th. Both of these events were part of her Asia Tour 2025, which began in Japan in June. Neither the organizers nor the artist has provided clear and detailed reasons for the cancellations at either location, which has given rise to various speculations.
This incident also highlights the challenges faced by international cultural events in the post-COVID era and underscores the need for transparency in the event organization process. Although Hamasaki has maintained direct communication with her fans, the future of the remaining legs of her tour remains uncertain.
