Accident in Yunnan Coal Mine, Some Workers Trapped

Zhenxiong (China) . Local authorities reported on Thursday that a gas outburst accident occurred at a coal mine in Zhenxiong County, southwest China’s Yunnan Province, around 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

Firefighters and rescue workers have successfully extracted some of the trapped miners. However, as of around 11:50 p.m. on Wednesday, some workers remained trapped inside the mine.

Rescue operations are ongoing to determine the cause of the accident and save the remaining trapped individuals. Local authorities have coordinated with emergency services to intensify rescue efforts. Further investigation is underway regarding the exact cause of the accident and the number of casualties.
