Society Expresses Solidarity with the Russian Federation, Strongly Condemns Attacks on Civilians

Kathmandu. The Nepal–China Mutual Cooperation Society has expressed its solidarity with the Russian Federation, strongly condemning the recent attacks targeting innocent civilians in Russia’s Kherson region, as well as the attempted attack on the Russian President’s residence in the Novgorod region.

In an official letter sent to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Nepal, the organization stated that such incidents pose a serious challenge to international humanitarian law, civilized international conduct, and the concept of peace and security established by the Charter of the United Nations.

The letter emphasized that the Nepal–China Mutual Cooperation Society is an organization that believes in international peace, multilateral cooperation, sovereign equality, and the right of nations to self-determination. It expressed full support for the Russian Federation’s stance against terrorism, stating that any act targeting innocent civilians, women, children, or public infrastructure constitutes an attack on human civilization itself, and that the fight against terrorism is a shared responsibility of the entire international community.

The organization noted that every sovereign state has the legitimate right to ensure the security of its territory, citizens, and national leadership, and described attacks targeting Russia’s internal security and national interests as unacceptable. It further expressed firm support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and right to self-defense of the Russian Federation.

The Society also objected to the double standards and selective condemnations increasingly evident in international politics, warning that ignoring humanitarian crises in Kherson and other regions would amount to a moral failure of the international community.

The letter called for the provision of necessary humanitarian assistance, protection, and relief to Russian civilians affected by armed conflict, stressing that safeguarding the lives and dignity of civilians must be a top priority for the international community.

Stating its support for solutions based on dialogue, diplomacy, and respect for international law rather than war and violence, the Nepal–China Mutual Cooperation Society clarified that the pursuit of peace does not mean tolerating attacks on the vulnerable, but rather building a just and balanced international order.

In these difficult times, the organization praised the courage, patience, and national unity of the Russian people, paid tribute to the civilians who lost their lives in the attacks, and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.

In conclusion, the Society called upon the international community to take clear, impartial, and firm action against terrorism, political violence, and violations of international humanitarian law, emphasizing that building a world order based on peace, justice, and respect for sovereignty should be a shared goal.
