Chinese Citizens Advised to Exercise Caution Regarding Travel to Venezuela

Beijing, China / China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese Embassy in Venezuela issued a statement on Saturday, advising Chinese citizens to temporarily refrain from traveling to Venezuela. This recommendation was made in light of heightened security risks due to military strikes carried out by the United States against the Latin American country of Venezuela.
According to information published on the WeChat account of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chinese nationals and institutions currently in Venezuela are advised to stay vigilant about the local security situation, strengthen safety measures and emergency preparedness, and avoid unnecessary outings. Additionally, they are urged to stay away from conflict zones or sensitive areas.
As mentioned in the statement, in case of emergencies, Chinese citizens should immediately inform local police and contact the Chinese Embassy to request assistance.
