Leader Dev Prasad Gurung Strongly Condemns US Military Intervention in Venezuela

Kathmandu – Leader Dev Prasad Gurung of the Communist Party of Nepal has strongly condemned the US military attack on Venezuela and demanded its immediate cessation.

In a statement issued, Leader Gurung has alleged that on January 3, the US military launched an attack on Venezuela, a sovereign nation and member state of the United Nations, and abducted the Venezuelan President along with his family, making them disappear. According to him, this incident constitutes a blatant violation of the United Nations Charter, the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, international law, and human rights.

Gurung denounced this kind of US military intervention and aggression as unacceptable. He further urged an immediate end to the military intervention in Venezuela, ensured the safe release of the abducted President, and called for respecting the Venezuelan people’s right to self-determination.

In the statement, he emphasized that the United Nations must immediately take initiative to resolve this serious issue and sought to draw the attention of all concerned parties.

Leader Gurung’s remarks have once again brought the Venezuela crisis and the perspective of Nepal’s communist leaders on it into discussion within international politics.
