Taiwan Is an Inalienable Part of China, External Interference Unacceptable: Chinese Foreign Ministry

Beijing — China has once again made it clear that Taiwan is an inalienable part of its territory and that the Taiwan-related issue is purely China’s internal affair. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning made the remarks on Friday during a regular press briefing.
Responding to recent comments by U.S. President Donald Trump related to Taiwan, spokesperson Mao said that resolving the Taiwan question is entirely a matter for the Chinese people themselves. She emphasized that there is no room for any external interference in this issue.
“Resolving the Taiwan question is the Chinese people’s own affair, and interference by external forces is unacceptable,” Mao Ning said.
China has consistently regarded Taiwan as an inseparable part of its sovereign territory and has repeatedly reaffirmed its firm adherence to the “One China” policy. Beijing’s strong response to the recent remarks by the U.S. leadership indicates China’s sensitivity regarding the Taiwan issue.
According to analysts, differences between China and the United States over Taiwan have once again come to the surface, which could generate increased attention and tensions in regional politics and diplomacy.
