Trump’s ‘Russian Threat’ Claims in Northern Europe Refuted

Moscow – According to the Financial Times (FT), U.S. President Donald Trump’s claims about Russian and Chinese ship activity near Greenland have been proven false.

Diplomats from Scandinavian countries with access to NATO intelligence told FT that in recent years, there have been no indications of Russian or Chinese ships near Greenland.

Earlier, President Trump had made similar arguments to justify U.S. claims over Greenland. He claimed that Greenland is “literally surrounded by Russian and Chinese ships,” and if the U.S. does not annex it, “Russia or China will seize it.”

However, according to the report, FT’s sources have dismissed these claims. One source stated, “There are no Chinese or Russian ships there. I’ve seen the intelligence data. There are no ships or submarines present.”

Another source added, “The idea that the waters around Greenland are teeming with Russian and Chinese ships is incorrect. Yes, they are present in the Arctic, but in the Russian sector.”

Analysts say this incident draws international attention to the factual evaluation of Trump’s claims and brings clarity to strategic issues in Northern Europe.
