Protest in Denmark Against US Plans Regarding Greenland

Copenhagen. While Danish and Greenlandic officials were engaged in talks with US Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington, around 200 protesters gathered outside the US Embassy in Denmark on Wednesday to express their opposition to Washington’s plans concerning Greenland.
The demonstration, named ‘Greenland Belongs to the Greenlanders,’ began at 4 p.m. local time in front of the embassy and was later moved by police to the opposite side of the street. The peaceful protest lasted for about two hours.
A Greenlander, Andersen, told the media, “We only want to be ourselves. We are Greenlanders and belong to Greenland, and our commitment to that will remain strong.”
Copenhagen resident Simon Vincent Nelson said, “No one should be able to take over another country—not because someone thinks they are powerful and can therefore take whatever they want.” He expressed feeling very angry and insulted by the matter.
This protest followed US President Donald Trump’s repeated remarks about acquiring Greenland, which have been firmly rejected by Denmark, Greenland, and NATO allies.
