These Candidates Get Direct Tickets from UML in Lumbini Province, Many Seats Reserved for Chairman’s Discretion

Kathmandu / The CPN-UML has announced the candidates for various constituencies in Lumbini Province. Accordingly, while direct tickets have been awarded in some areas, in others the status remains “reserved” (to be decided at the discretion of Chairman Oli).

The UML Secretariat meeting held on Saturday has publicly announced the following candidates for Lumbini Province who have received direct tickets:

· Banke: Surya Dhakal and Dal Bahadur Sunar
· Pyuthan: Surya Bahadur Thapa
· Rolpa: Gokul Gharti
· Arghakhanchi: Pitambar Bhushal
· Gulmi: Pradeep Gyawali and Gokarna Bista
· Nawalparasi: Ram Prasad Pandey and Bhagwati Prasad Yadav
· Rupandehi: Basudev Ghimire and Khimlal Bhattarai
· Kapilvastu: Vishram Chaudhary and Birendra Kadouniya
· Dang: Ghanashyam Pandey
· Bardiya: Salikram Adhikari and Vimla Vik
· Palpa: Narayan Acharya and Vishnu Prasad Podel.

Similarly, some seats in Banke, Rupandehi, Kapilvastu, Dang, and Rukum East are still “reserved” (to be decided at the discretion of Chairman Oli). According to party sources, Chairman Oli will make the final decision on these seats based on coalition partner coordination and internal party consensus.

Lumbini Province is considered extremely important for the UML. In distributing tickets across all major districts here, the party appears to have prioritized its strong presence and local support. The strategy behind reserving seats seems to be to accommodate potential coalition partners or to maintain balance within the party itself.

This decision is linked to the message of “unity under Oli’s leadership” and “achieving victory in the election” that the UML has been advancing. A decision on the reserved seats is expected in the coming days.
