Abu Dhabi Hosts Russia–US–Ukraine Talks: Confidential Security Discussions, Further Talks to Follow

Abu Dhabi — The first day of high-level talks held in Abu Dhabi as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine has concluded. The initial round of discussions, primarily focused on sensitive security issues, was conducted in a highly confidential setting.
From the outset, the participating parties adopted strict precautions, deciding not to invite journalists and not to disclose the location of the negotiations. According to diplomatic sources, the closed-door dialogue was serious, pragmatic, and results-oriented.
Citing Russia’s TASS news agency, a source said that the first phase of the talks progressed positively and that further negotiations are scheduled to resume on Saturday. The participating delegations are also preparing to brief their respective capitals on the interim progress and outcomes of the discussions.
The international community is closely watching the talks, which aim to seek preliminary understanding on security-related issues, regional stability, and possible solutions linked to the Ukraine crisis. Against the backdrop of prolonged tensions and conflict, the Abu Dhabi dialogue is being viewed as an important step toward potential confidence-building.
Although specific agendas and detailed discussions have not been made public, the diplomatic momentum and continuity demonstrated so far have raised expectations that new avenues toward resolving the Ukraine crisis may open in the coming days.
