Living Symbol of Russian National Service Kasatonov Honored: President Putin’s Congratulations

Brest – A special meeting program was held at the Consulate General of Russia in Brest, Belarus, with retired First-Class Captain Valery Fyodorovich Kasatonov. On the occasion of his birthday, the congratulatory message sent by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, was formally presented by Oleg Murashev, the Russian Consul General for Brest.

In his message, President Putin wished Kasatonov excellent health, describing his life journey, profound love for the motherland, and dedication linked to the nation’s destiny as an inspiring example for the younger generation.

Captain Kasatonov is not only an experienced naval officer but also a renowned writer and social activist. His life has been one of struggle; he endured the suffering of the Leningrad siege during World War II and subsequently dedicated his entire life to serving the nation. Though officially retired today, he remains active.

He is currently engaged in fostering patriotic consciousness among the youth and also serves as the Vice Chairman of the regional branch of the All-Russian Public Movement in support of the Navy. An author of over 80 stories and books based on naval life and national service, Kasatonov is honored in Russian society as a living symbol of patriotism, courage, and dedication.

This meeting has once again highlighted the important message of how crucial the contribution of experienced personalities is to preserving Russian history, naval traditions, and transgenerational values.
