K.P. Oli Discusses Elections and Gen-Z Issues with Prime Minister Karki

Kathmandu — UML Chairman and former Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli has expressed interest in the progress of the commission formed to investigate the Gen-Z movement incidents during a meeting with Prime Minister Sushila Karki.

During the meeting on Thursday morning, Oli also raised concerns regarding the upcoming House of Representatives elections, polling security, and overall citizen safety. He highlighted potential risks of fraud and threats to public safety at polling stations, urging the Prime Minister to take necessary measures to ensure a secure and fair electoral process.

In response, Prime Minister Karki informed him that 80,000 security personnel had been deployed since Wednesday, assuring that there would be no lapses in election security and urging confidence in participating in the polls. According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, UML leader Bishnu Rimal also attended the meeting with Oli at Baluwatar.

Additionally, Prime Minister Karki clarified that if elections in the hilly districts are disrupted due to snowfall, a second phase of voting could be conducted. She reaffirmed her commitment to conducting the elections in a completely safe and impartial manner.
