Kathmandu – With the objective of further strengthening economic relations between Nepal and the United States and advancing the journey towards shared prosperity, the economic team of the US Embassy held a meeting with the leadership of the Nepal–USA Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NUSACCI).
During the program held last Wednesday, discussions centered on high-potential sectors such as tourism and information and communications technology (ICT). Pathways to deepen collaboration through future information sessions, partnerships, and joint advocacy campaigns were also explored.
The US Embassy described this meeting as an integral part of efforts to make bilateral economic relations durable and stronger. While they expressed a desire to increase US investment, trade, and economic opportunities in Nepal, the Nepali side also expressed expectations for cooperation in areas such as technology transfer, capacity building, and market access.
NUSACCI discussed the necessary strategies to make this opportunity beneficial for businesspersons from both countries. In-depth deliberations were held on topics such as aligning the tourism sector with international standards and connecting the capabilities of Nepali youth in the ICT sector with the US market.
The economic team of the Embassy also reiterated its commitment to improving the business environment in Nepal and garnering policy support. It is expected that this interaction will lead to concrete action plans for bilateral economic cooperation in the coming days.
