China–India Talks: A New Chapter of Coexistence

New Delhi — A new round of strategic dialogue between China and India has commenced. During a high-level meeting held in New Delhi on February 10, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu and Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri held friendly and in-depth discussions.

Taking into account the current international situation, both sides emphasized the necessity of strategic cooperation between the two major neighboring countries, China and India. During the talks, both parties expressed their commitment to earnestly implementing the important understandings reached between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

It was reported that the discussions broadly covered bilateral relations, respective domestic and foreign policies, as well as international and regional issues of shared interest.

According to a statement issued after the meeting, China and India agreed to support each other as chairs of the BRICS countries this year and next. Both sides also reaffirmed their commitment to multilateralism and to the central role of the United Nations.

Furthermore, the two countries reached consensus on strengthening unity and cooperation among the Global South, upholding international fairness and justice, and promoting a multipolar world order.

The talks are expected to contribute not only to peace and development in Asia but also globally. Analysts note that the growing cooperation and dialogue between the two neighboring nations send a positive signal for regional stability.
