Best Wishes to President Xi from Around the World for the Year of the Horse; Nepal Also Extends Its Goodwill

Kathmandu, February 17: On the occasion of the Chinese New Year (Year of the Horse) and the Spring Festival 2026, heads of state from various countries and leaders of international organizations around the world have sent heartfelt congratulatory messages to Chinese President and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Xi Jinping. They expressed their wishes for the happiness, peace, and prosperity of the Chinese people and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations.

Russian President Vladimir Putin noted in his message that over the past year, the comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era between Russia and China has gained positive momentum. He also informed that in 2026, the two countries will jointly organize the “Russia–China Year of Education.”

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva stated that Brazil is ready to continuously expand cooperation with China and to work together to build a Brazil–China community with a shared future aimed at creating a more just world and a sustainable planet.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa mentioned that his country is prepared to further strengthen cooperation with China and make positive contributions to global peace and development.

General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President Thongloun Sisoulith expressed confidence that the Chinese people will successfully advance the new journey of the 15th Five-Year Plan.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated that under President Xi’s leadership, China will continue to achieve remarkable accomplishments in various fields.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres released a video message thanking China and its people for supporting multilateralism and global unity. He expressed hope for working together to build a secure and inclusive future.
