Fulfilling the Martyrs’ Dream: Let Us Advance on the Path to a Prosperous Nepal: Oli

Kathmandu, Falgun 7 — CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has extended heartfelt greetings to all Nepali sisters and brothers living in the country and abroad on the occasion of Democracy Day. He has characterized this day as one of the most glorious and transformative days in Nepali history.
Issuing a message of best wishes, Chairman Oli recalled the historical fact that on Falgun 7, 2007 BS, the people’s indomitable courage, sacrifice, and martyrdom ended the autocratic Rana regime and ushered in a dawn of freedom and rights. On this occasion, he paid heartfelt tributes and profound respect to the immortal martyrs Shukraraj Shastri, Dashrath Chand, Dharmabhakta Mathema, and Gangalal Shrestha, who dedicated their lives for democracy.
Leader Oli stated that this day bestows three important national responsibilities upon every Nepali. The message reads, “First, it is our primary duty to safeguard national independence and uphold the nation’s dignity. Second, we must protect the constitution and keep the democratic rights and values of the people alive.”
Similarly, mentioning the third responsibility, he said, “It is imperative to reconstruct the nation’s heritage, our rich human culture, industries, and infrastructure damaged by widespread destruction, while ensuring the safety of citizens.”
In conclusion, Chairman Oli expressed his wish that, drawing inspiration from this historic day, all Nepalis can move forward united and vigilantly, and successfully complete the nation’s journey towards prosperity.
