Fireworks Shop Explosion in Hubei: 12 Dead, High-Level Investigation Team Formed

Beijing, February 19: At least 12 people have died in a massive explosion at a fireworks shop in China’s Hubei Province. The State Council Work Safety Committee and the Ministry of Emergency Management have dispatched a high-level supervisory team to the site.
According to local time, the explosion occurred at around 2 PM on Wednesday at the shop located in Zhengji Town, Xiangyang City. According to the Ministry of Emergency Management, the supervisory team has been mobilized to carry out rescue operations and determine the cause of the incident.
The Hubei provincial government has been directed to form an investigation team to conduct an in-depth probe into the incident and proceed with legal action against those responsible. Authorities have stated that further details of the incident are awaited.
