President Putin’s Greetings on the Occasion of the White Month: A Heartfelt Address to the Russian Buddhist Community

Kathmandu, February 20. Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended heartfelt congratulations to Buddhists in Russia on the occasion of the White Month (the New Year according to the lunar calendar).
In his message of greetings, President Putin expressed delight that the Russian Buddhist community preserves the historical, cultural, and spiritual heritage passed down through many generations of their ancestors, along with their distinctive customs and traditions.
Noting that Buddhist organizations actively participate in Russia’s public life, President Putin stated that they conduct important educational and charitable initiatives. Furthermore, he praised the Buddhist community’s contribution to promoting interreligious and interethnic harmony, strengthening family values, and educating the younger generation.
President Putin particularly acknowledged the meaningful support provided by the Buddhist community to soldiers involved in the special military operation and their families. He also noted that their dedication to the restoration of monasteries, temples, and historical sites, as well as the construction of new monasteries and educational centers, is equally commendable.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all Buddhists living in Russia, to everyone who follows this ancient religion, on this bright and auspicious occasion. I wish you all good health, continued success, and all the very best,” the President’s message stated.
