PM Says: ‘Mustang is a District Run by Women’

Kathmandu – Prime Minister Sushila Karki expressed her delight upon observing that the administrative leadership of Mustang is entirely helmed by women during her visit to the district.

A team led by Chief District Officer (CDO) Ajita Sharma and District Police Office chief, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Tshering Kippa Lama, was present at the airport on Friday to welcome the Prime Minister, who arrived in Mustang via a Nepali Army helicopter. The Prime Minister was visibly impressed to see that both leaders welcoming her were women.

During a casual conversation after the welcome, she happily remarked, “So, Mustang is a district run by women.” Furthermore, Prime Minister Karki herself took the initiative, saying, “Let’s take a photo,” and invited CDO Sharma and DSP Lama to join her. At the Prime Minister’s own request, a photo was taken featuring the three women leaders together.

CDO Sharma shared that they were delighted by the Prime Minister’s affectionate demeanor. “Receiving such encouragement from the Prime Minister has further motivated us to conduct the upcoming elections peacefully,” she said.

Earlier, Prime Minister Karki had visited the Muktinath temple. She also participated in an election-focused discussion program organized at the Indrabox Battalion of the Nepali Army in Jomsom, where she directed officials to ensure the elections are held in a fear-free environment.
