Family in the Missile’s Fire: Four Relatives of Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei Killed

Kathmandu – The flames of war burning in the skies of the Middle East have now engulfed even the family of Iran’s supreme leadership. It has been confirmed that four close relatives of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, were killed in the joint US-Israeli airstrikes.

According to Iran’s Fars News Agency, citing sources within the Supreme Leader’s family, Khamenei’s daughter, son-in-law, grandson, and a daughter-in-law lost their lives in the US-Israeli attack. Fars Agency stated, ‘After contacting informed sources in the Supreme Leader’s family, the news of the martyrdom of the revolutionary leader’s daughter, son-in-law, and grandson has unfortunately been confirmed.’

Reports indicate that high-powered weapons were fired at the Supreme Leader’s secure residential complex in Tehran and surrounding areas, resulting in the deaths of these four individuals.

Meanwhile, former US President Donald Trump has claimed that Khamenei himself was also killed. He wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social, ‘Khamenei, one of the most evil people in history, is dead. This is justice not only for the people of Iran, but for all those great Americans and people around the world who were killed or maimed by Khamenei and his bloodthirsty gang.’

However, Iranian media outlets Tasnim and Mehr have reported that Khamenei is ‘safe and firmly commanding the field.’ They have not, however, confirmed the deaths of his family members.

Iran’s Red Crescent Society has reported at least 201 deaths and 747 injuries from Saturday’s attacks. Twenty-four of Iran’s 31 provinces have been affected by these strikes.

Following this attack, Iran has also retaliated against US military bases in Israel and the Gulf region, resulting in explosions in Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE, and Bahrain. Flights have been suspended, and the Strait of Hormuz has been closed.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres has called this a violation of international peace and security, urging an immediate ceasefire and a return to dialogue. China, Russia, and the Arab League have also expressed concern and called for restraint.
