China’s Three-Point Stance on Iran Crisis: Immediate Ceasefire, Dialogue, and Opposition to Unilateral Actions

Kathmandu. Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has articulated China’s clear position regarding the current situation in Iran. During a telephone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Sunday, he presented China’s stance on three main points.
Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated, “China’s position regarding the Iran situation is clear: First, military operations must cease immediately. Second, there must be a return to dialogue and negotiations as soon as possible. And third, unilateral actions must be collectively opposed.”
He emphasized that diplomatic initiatives are the only solution for regional stability and international peace. During the talks with his Russian counterpart, the two leaders reached an agreement to further deepen cooperation on international issues, including Iran.
Prior to this, on Saturday, after the United States and Israel launched major military operations against Iran, Iran carried out retaliatory attacks. Following that incident, concern has grown worldwide, and various countries and international organizations are urging de-escalation of tensions.
