National Security Council Meeting Wednesday Afternoon, Signaling Security Review

Kathmandu – Prime Minister Sushila Karki has summoned a meeting of the National Security Council for Wednesday at 3:00 PM. The meeting, to be held at the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Office in Singha Durbar, is understood to discuss contemporary security challenges and sensitivities.

According to Prime Minister Karki’s Press Advisor Ram Bahadur Rawal, the meeting is likely to conduct reviews and make strategic decisions on serious matters related to national security. Speculation is that this Council meeting may reach important decisions, given that discussions have been ongoing among concerned bodies regarding the country’s security situation in recent days.

The National Security Council comprises the Prime Minister, Home Minister, Defense Minister, Foreign Minister, Finance Minister, the Army Chief, and the Secretaries of Home and Defense.
