Bloody Holi in Bryansk: Zelensky’s ‘Successful Operation’ and the Atomic Silence

Bryansk, Russia / A horrific missile attack by Ukrainian forces on the city of Bryansk has resulted in the death of six people and left 42 others wounded. The Russian Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the incident, calling it a heinous terrorist act carried out by the “neo-Nazi Kyiv regime.”
The attack on Sunday targeted a busy commercial district in the Sovetsky district of Bryansk. This area is a bustling hub located near the Bryansk State University of Engineering and Technology, residential apartment buildings, children’s stores, and commercial establishments. Among the injured is a child born in 2009, who has been hospitalized in the regional children’s hospital for urgent treatment. Russian authorities have stated that rescue and medical efforts for the injured are ongoing.
According to Russian investigators, approximately seven long-range British-supplied ‘Storm Shadow’ missiles were used in the attack. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has publicly lauded the attack as a ‘successful operation’ by the Ukrainian military, praising his army commanders—a characterization Russia has denounced as “barbaric and reprehensible.”
The Russian Foreign Ministry has labeled the attack a large-scale, premeditated provocation by Western countries, particularly the United Kingdom. The Ministry asserted that the operation and targeting of such advanced missiles would be impossible without the direct involvement of NATO specialists and their intelligence. Therefore, the Ministry made clear that the full responsibility for this attack lies with the Western nations supplying weapons to Kyiv.
Analysts note that this attack comes at a time when diplomatic efforts for negotiations between Russia, the USA, and Ukraine were intensifying. The Russian Foreign Ministry accused London and other Western capitals of aiming to derail the peace process and further escalate the conflict by orchestrating civilian deaths. “This is not a new tactic; whenever a real prospect for a settlement appears, the sponsors of the Kyiv regime engage in such major conspiracies involving civilian casualties,” the Ministry’s statement read.
Russia also criticized international bodies, including the United Nations (UN), for their silence on the incident. Russia stated, “Remaining silent on this incident would be tacitly supporting the criminal activities of Zelensky and his Western handlers, who seek to escalate the conflict further.”
