Agreement Between Putin and Bahrain King on Iran Crisis

Moscow – Russia and Bahrain have expressed serious concern, stating that the unprecedented tension in the Middle East surrounding Iran following the US-Israel attack has pushed the entire region to the brink of a major war. Extensive discussions on this matter took place during a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

During the talks with the King of Bahrain, who currently also serves as the Chair of the Gulf Cooperation Council of Arab States, Russian President Putin stated that the US-Israeli aggression against Iran has pushed the entire region to the brink of a devastating war. Both leaders emphasized the need to immediately halt this conflict and return the situation to the diplomatic track.

According to the Russian Presidential Office, Putin and the King of Bahrain also discussed how the current developments pose a major threat to the security of Arab nations that maintain friendly relations with Russia. In this context, Putin confirmed that Russia is ready to play an active role using all available means to bring stability to the region.

According to international relations analysts, this dialogue between Russia and Bahrain highlights the growing dissatisfaction and concern in the Middle East following the US-Israeli aggression. This conversation also indicates Russia’s desire to increase its influence and diplomatic reach in the region.

This dialogue is considered even more significant because Bahrain holds the chairmanship of the Gulf Cooperation Council and also maintains close relations with the US. Although Bahrain has military cooperation with the US, regarding the Iran issue, it appears to favor preventing war.

The Russian Presidential Office has stated that further dialogue and contacts between both sides will continue in the coming days. Analysts have suggested that this conversation could open the door for new diplomatic initiatives to resolve the Iran crisis.
