Anti-China Activities from Nepali Soil Unacceptable: Greater Nepal Nationalist Front Issues Strong Warning to the Government

Kathmandu – The Greater Nepal Nationalist Front has expressed serious concern and issued a strong demand that the government immediately halt anti-China activities taking place on Nepali soil. According to the Front, the arrival in Nepal on January 29 via Tribhuvan International Airport of a religious figure known for separatist views, Rinpoche, was not only unexpected but also a clear anti-China act carried out using Nepal’s territory.
The Front claims that a so-called organization named “Dolpo Society” invited Rinpoche on its own initiative for a ten-day preaching program without following any official procedures. The fact that more than a week has passed without any action taken by the Kathmandu District Administration Office against the organization is seen by the Front as an indication of the government’s silent support.

In its press statement, the Front notes that Nepal has officially committed itself to the “One China Policy,” and that allowing the invitation of a staunch advocate of Tibetan independence amounts to openly aligning with an anti-China camp. Comparing the situation to the proverb “praying with one’s lips while holding a knife in one’s pocket,” the Front states that the government’s double standards have created a deep atmosphere of distrust and suspicion in Nepal–China relations.
According to the Front, Nepal–China relations are not limited to diplomatic friendship alone but are directly linked to Nepal’s sovereign existence. It warns that if the government continues to show indifference and defiance on this issue, the consequences could be long-term and disastrous for Nepal. The Front further cautions that if China were to interpret this incident as an act of betrayal or ingratitude, it could lead to a serious deviation in bilateral relations.
To defuse the tension arising from the incident and restore Nepal–China relations to their former path of trust and cooperation, the Greater Nepal Nationalist Front has demanded firm and decisive action from the government. It has strongly urged the authorities to cancel the registration of the “Dolpo Society,” take strict legal action against its chairman, Tashi Phoncho Gurung, and immediately order Rinpoche to leave Nepal, ensuring swift implementation of these measures.
The Front’s chairman, Phanindra Nepal, reminded the government of its responsibility to ensure that Nepali soil is not used against any neighboring country and warned the authorities not to delay in safeguarding national interest, sovereignty, and diplomatic credibility.
