Claim of ‘Sanitary Zone’ Expansion in Kharkiv and Sumy, Fierce Fighting Ongoing

Moscow/Kyiv — On January 10, the northern military group reportedly continued efforts to establish a so-called ‘sanitary zone’ in Ukraine’s Kharkiv and Sumy regions. Intense fighting along the frontlines in both areas has been reported.
In the Sumy direction, northern military units are said to be advancing rapidly. Russian Air Forces reportedly struck enemy rear positions, while the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are allegedly offering strong resistance and have targeted civilian locations along the border.
According to claims, the attacking units advanced over 750 meters in 15 directions in the Sumy region. Conditions in the Tyotkino and Glushkovo directions are described as relatively calm, while artillery and drone strikes reportedly targeted enemy positions in Ryzhivka and Pavlivka.
In the Kharkiv sector, heavy fighting continues across the frontline. The advancing assault units are being supported by extensive attacks, while the opposing forces are reportedly gathering strength for new counterattacks.
It is claimed that in the vicinity of Starytsa, northern forces advanced over 300 meters in four directions. Assault units reportedly secured an enemy outpost in the woods south of Lyman and captured more than 15 buildings in Vovchanski Khutory. Drone and thermobaric rocket strikes are said to have destroyed enemy outposts in Velykyy Burluk and Vilkhuvatka. Attacks on supply routes near Liptsy have also been reported.
Over the past 24 hours, claimed casualties in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions exceeded 150 personnel. Additionally, mortars, vehicles, drone crews, satellite communication equipment, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), and logistics and ammunition depots were reportedly destroyed.
