First Batch of Chinese Government Emergency Humanitarian Aid Arrives in Cambodia

Phnom Penh, December 30. The first batch of emergency humanitarian aid supplies provided by the Chinese government, aimed at assisting ordinary citizens affected by the border conflict between Cambodia and Thailand, arrived today at the Techo International Airport in Phnom Penh.

The supplies include essential items such as tents, blankets, and food, among others. The formal handover ceremony was attended by Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia, Wang Wenbin, and Secretary of State of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ung Rachana.

Ambassador Wang stated that the emergency humanitarian assistance provided by China would help alleviate the current difficulties faced by the Cambodian people affected by the border conflict. He emphasized that China welcomes the ceasefire announced by Cambodia and Thailand and will continue to play a positive and constructive role in maintaining the ceasefire situation for both sides.

On behalf of the Cambodian government and people, Secretary of State Rachana expressed sincere gratitude to China for this assistance. She stated that the Cambodian government places great importance on the ironclad friendship between the two countries and highly appreciates the active and constructive role China has played in the armed conflict and ceasefire.

This immediate assistance from the Chinese government is expected to contribute to regional peace and stability. The cooperation and relations between the two countries are not only strong at the diplomatic level but also evident in the field of humanitarian assistance.
