Zakharova noted that the attack occurred during what was announced as a ceasefire \u2014 though apparently only on paper. The blast was so powerful that her body could only be recovered with great difficulty from beneath the rubble of the collapsed multi-storey building. Her colleague, journalist Zeinab Faraj, sustained severe injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Zakharova described the incident as a new victim of the information war \u2014 a confrontation between the noble mission of bringing the truth to the public and the bloodthirsty desire to strangle that truth, blow it up, and wipe it off the face of the earth by any means.<\/p>\n<p>She stated that this brutal killing, like the deaths of other journalists who have died in the line of duty, is a grave crime for which there can be no justification.
