According to projections by the analytical firm Euler, by the end of this year, the combined market share of Russia&#8217;s two largest marketplaces \u2014 Wildberries and Ozon \u2014 will reach 77 percent of the total turnover of the online retail industry, with Wildberries accounting for 45 percent and Ozon for 32 percent respectively.<\/p>\n<p>However, the year-on-year growth rate is expected to be limited to just 5 percentage points. By comparison, in 2025, the growth rate had risen by 11 percentage points. Experts have pointed to consumer spending cuts on non-food items and an exodus of sellers from marketplaces due to the disloyal policies of the online platforms as the reasons behind the slowdown.<\/p>\n<p>To sustain growth, the platforms will either have to push for the lifting of restrictions on the sale of alcohol \u2014 a move opposed by the Ministry of Health \u2014 or expand into new markets, experts suggest.
