Having recovered from a hamstring problem, the Argentine captain is set to make his 200th international appearance if he takes the field today. He will also become the first male footballer to play in six different World Cups.<\/p>\n<p>For Messi, this will be his record 27th World Cup appearance, further extending his place in football history.<\/p>\n<p>Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has returned to the squad after recovering from a finger injury. However, key left-back Nicolas Tagliafico will miss the opening match due to injury.<\/p>\n<p>Algeria, meanwhile, will be without main defender Ramy Bensebaini, who has been ruled out with an ankle injury. The North African side will look to challenge the defending champions with an organized and disciplined performance.<\/p>\n<p>Argentina had suffered a surprise defeat to Saudi Arabia in their opening match of the 2022 World Cup before going on to win the title.
