The award will be presented on Shrawan 9, coinciding with the 252nd birth anniversary of national luminary Bhimsen Thapa.<\/p>\n<p>Shrestha is widely known for his research and public engagement on Nepal\u2019s border-related issues, including historical maps, border management and sensitive territorial matters such as Kalapani, Lipulekh, Limpiyadhura and Susta.<\/p>\n<p>The foundation said Shrestha was chosen for the award for his notable contribution to the country and its people through continuous work on matters related to Nepal\u2019s borders.<\/p>\n<p>For nearly three decades, the foundation has been honouring individuals or organisations that have made significant contributions to history, national interest and public life in memory of Bhimsen Thapa.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, the award was presented to Dr. Bhekh Bahadur Thapa for his significant contribution to Nepal\u2019s diplomacy and economy.<\/p>\n<p>The foundation\u2019s decision to honour Shrestha is being viewed as recognition of intellectual and professional work in the field of border studies at a time when issues of sovereignty, geography and national interest remain highly sensitive for Nepal.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fb-background-color\">\n\t\t\t  <div \n\t\t\t  \tclass = \"fb-comments\" \n\t\t\t  \tdata-href = \"https:\/\/eng.dragonmedia.com.np\/?p=19449\"\n\t\t\t  \tdata-numposts = \"10\"\n\t\t\t  \tdata-lazy = \"true\"\n\t\t\t\tdata-colorscheme = \"light\"\n\t\t\t\tdata-order-by = \"time\"\n\t\t\t\tdata-mobile=true>\n\t\t\t  <\/div><\/div>\n\t\t  <style>\n\t\t    .fb-background-color {\n\t\t\t\tbackground: #ffffff !important;\n\t\t\t}\n\t\t\t.fb_iframe_widget_fluid_desktop iframe {\n\t\t\t    width: 100% !important;\n\t\t\t}\n\t\t  <\/style>\n\t\t  ","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu.
