Kangding. A junior high school dance competition was held in Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province, China, as part of the seventh primary and secondary school students\u2019 sports competition and arts festival.<\/p>\n

Held under the theme \u201cSacred Ganzi, Talented Youth,\u201d the competition took place on June 25 at the famous Love Song Square in Kangding City. A total of 17 representative teams from different counties and cities across Ganzi Prefecture took part in the event.<\/p>\n

The junior high school students presented dances marked by disciplined group movements, expressive performance, cultural emotion, youthful energy and artistic creativity. Their performances combined traditional cultural elements with modern stage presentation, showcasing the creativity and confidence of Ganzi\u2019s young students.<\/p>\n

Of the 17 dance works performed in the competition, four were original creations. This showed that the students were not only practicing existing routines, but were also able to bring local culture, history, folk melodies, ethnic identity and contemporary youth spirit onto the stage in their own creative ways.<\/p>\n

After evaluation by a professional jury, Dege County\u2019s performance \u201cAncient Melody of the Snowland,\u201d Nyagrong County\u2019s \u201cYouth of Nyagrong, Dream of the Red Hair Ribbon,\u201d and Drago County\u2019s \u201cLing Gesar\u201d won first prizes in the competition.<\/p>\n

According to the judges, the winning performances effectively expressed local cultural heritage, the aspirations of young people and the artistic traditions of Ganzi. In particular, \u201cLing Gesar\u201d linked Tibetan cultural history and heroic epic tradition with the younger generation through student dance performance.<\/p>\n

Participating teams presented the cultural identity, costumes, music, rhythm and dance movements of their respective areas. This made the festival not only a school-level competition, but also a platform for cultural exchange among different counties and cities of Ganzi Prefecture.<\/p>\n

Organizers said such competitions play an important role in developing students\u2019 physical fitness, artistic ability, group discipline, confidence and cultural awareness. The festival was organized to promote the all-round development of children and teenagers by making sports and the arts an important part of school education.<\/p>\n

The closing ceremony of the seventh Ganzi Prefecture primary and secondary school students\u2019 sports competition and arts festival is scheduled to be held this afternoon at the Ganzi Prefecture Ethnic Sports Hall. Dance works that won first prizes in different categories will be presented during the ceremony.<\/p>\n

Awards will also be presented to winning teams and students with outstanding performances. Organizers said the festival has helped promote healthy competition, cultural pride, artistic expression and collective spirit among students.<\/p>\n

Ganzi is known for its rich history, culture and ethnic diversity. Efforts to promote local culture, folk arts and traditional stories through dance, music and stage performance at the school level are expected to contribute to the preservation of cultural heritage and its transmission to younger generations.<\/p>\n
