Amid mounting criticism of the government\u2019s performance and growing public dissatisfaction, Prime Minister Balendra Shah held more than four hours of talks with Rastriya Swatantra Party Chair Rabi Lamichhane on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Shah visited Lamichhane at his residence in Budhanilkantha. He reportedly arrived at around 11:15 am and left at approximately 3:15 pm.<\/p>\n

Sources said the two leaders held a one-on-one discussion covering the current political situation, the government\u2019s performance and internal party matters.<\/p>\n

The talks reportedly focused on resolving the problems of landless squatters, managing displaced families and appointing office-bearers and central committee members of the Rastriya Swatantra Party.<\/p>\n

They also reviewed the government\u2019s first 100 days in office, growing public dissatisfaction and other recent political developments.<\/p>\n

The Shah-led government has faced increasing pressure over its handling of the landless squatter issue. Critics have accused the government of failing to ensure timely identification, resettlement and proper management of displaced families.<\/p>\n

The self-immolation attempt and subsequent death of Ganesh Nepali have also intensified debate over the government\u2019s social protection policies, administrative sensitivity and responsibility towards economically vulnerable citizens. Ganesh\u2019s family, however, has stated that the government made the necessary efforts during his medical treatment.<\/p>\n

The lengthy meeting between Prime Minister Shah and RSP Chair Lamichhane is being viewed as an attempt to strengthen policy coordination between the government and the party and to address the growing political pressure surrounding recent events.<\/p>\n

Neither the Prime Minister\u2019s Secretariat nor the Rastriya Swatantra Party has issued an official statement detailing the discussions. Information about the meeting has so far been attributed to sources familiar with the talks.<\/p>\n
