Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has said all government agencies, emergency services and available resources are being mobilized in a coordinated effort to confront one of the most intense wildfire seasons in the country\u2019s history.<\/p>\n

In a statement released on social media on Saturday, Carney described the situation in Northwestern Ontario as particularly devastating. He said more than 10 communities in the region had already been evacuated.<\/p>\n

According to the prime minister, more than 5,300 firefighting personnel have been deployed nationwide, while nearly 300 aircraft are being used for fire suppression, emergency response and aerial monitoring.<\/p>\n

Carney also said Canada is expanding the use of data, drones, emerging technologies and advanced thermal imaging systems to detect fires in real time, assess risks and support containment operations.<\/p>\n

His remarks came as extreme heat and prolonged drought continued to intensify the wildfire crisis across the country.<\/p>\n

According to the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre, Canada\u2019s national preparedness level has been raised to Level 4. The designation indicates that large-scale sharing of personnel, aircraft and firefighting equipment is required across multiple provinces and territories.<\/p>\n

The latest figures show that 3,839 wildfires have been recorded across Canada so far this year, burning more than 2.9 million hectares of forest and other land.<\/p>\n

As of Saturday, 971 wildfires remained active nationwide, including 239 classified as out of control.<\/p>\n

Northern Ontario has emerged as one of the main centres of the crisis, with around 190 active fires burning across the region. The rapid spread of the fires has forced several Indigenous communities to evacuate.<\/p>\n

Thick smoke from the wildfires has also drifted southward, significantly affecting air quality in several major US cities. Authorities have issued public health alerts in the affected areas.<\/p>\n
