To understand the extraordinary expansion of the Cockroach Janata Party, it is necessary to examine two of its most visible figures: Abhijeet Dipke and Saurabh Das.<\/p>\n

The movement\u2019s real strength lies in the millions of people supporting it. Yet these two figures have played important roles in shaping its language, public visibility and strategic direction.<\/p>\n

Abhijeet Dipke is a political communications strategist in his early thirties. His educational and professional background is associated with communication, campaign development and digital political messaging.<\/p>\n

He does not resemble the conventional student leader shaped by university unions and party organisations. That difference is also one of his principal strengths.<\/p>\n

Dipke has helped transform serious social anger into an accessible political language built around satire, short videos, symbols and a shared identity. His leadership style combines personal charisma with participatory digital mobilisation.<\/p>\n

Rather than presenting himself as a supreme leader, he attempts to become the voice of a generation that feels humiliated and excluded. This allows supporters to see the movement not as someone else\u2019s political project, but as their own.<\/p>\n

Yet any movement built around digital charisma carries serious risks. Popularity cannot replace institutional accountability.<\/p>\n

Unless the movement becomes transparent about its financial resources, membership, decision-making procedures and the selection of negotiating teams, it could be accused of becoming a personal political project. A large social-media following is not the same as a durable mass organisation.<\/p>\n

Saurabh Das appears to play a different role. According to publicly available descriptions, his background is linked to investigative journalism, law, the judiciary and public policy.<\/p>\n

As one of the movement\u2019s main spokespersons, he has helped present the protest not merely through emotional slogans but also in legal and institutional language.<\/p>\n

Dipke represents the movement\u2019s symbolic power and public sentiment, while Das acts as its interpreter and communications coordinator. A successful movement requires both abilities.<\/p>\n

Charisma brings people together, but evidence and institutional language preserve credibility.<\/p>\n

The temporary restriction and later restoration of Das\u2019s social-media account raised another important question: how vulnerable is a digitally dependent political movement to the decisions of private technology companies?<\/p>\n

The suspension of a single account can affect communication, coordination and fundraising. If the CJP remains dependent on one platform or a small number of personal accounts, decisions by either the state or private corporations could seriously disrupt it.<\/p>\n

A third challenge concerns message discipline. Some representatives of the movement have used highly confrontational or legally aggressive language.<\/p>\n

Such rhetoric may energise supporters, but it can also provide the government with an opportunity to portray the movement as a threat to national security or public order.<\/p>\n

Dipke and Das must also exercise great caution in managing relations with traditional opposition parties. Parliamentary and legal support from the opposition may be necessary, but the movement\u2019s credibility as an independent force could weaken if it falls under the shadow of the Congress or another party.<\/p>\n

At the same time, complete rejection of all parties could close the parliamentary channels required to achieve actual policy reform.<\/p>\n

Their strategic success will therefore depend on balance: issue-based cooperation with the opposition while preserving organisational independence; negotiations with the government while rejecting vague agreements; sustained street pressure while maintaining distance from violence; and sharp criticism grounded in verifiable evidence.<\/p>\n

The personal political futures of these leaders also remain uncertain. It is not yet clear whether Dipke will establish a formal political party, remain within civil society or eventually align with an opposition coalition.<\/p>\n

Similarly, Das will have to manage the boundaries between journalism, activism and political representation.<\/p>\n

The CJP\u2019s long-term survival will depend less on the personal popularity of these figures than on their ability to create new leadership.<\/p>\n

If they can develop credible leaders from local communities, women, Dalits, indigenous groups, regional populations and economically marginalised sections, the movement could evolve into a national institution.<\/p>\n

Otherwise, it may remain a powerful but short-lived digital moment.<\/p>\n
