Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended greetings on Navy Day, highlighting the Navy\u2019s vital role in safeguarding Russia\u2019s defence, security and legitimate interests in the World Ocean.<\/p>\n

In a message issued on July 26, Putin said generations of sailors, scientists and workers had established Russia as a great maritime power through military victories, dedicated service and major scientific achievements.<\/p>\n

He said naval service requires personnel not only to carry out combat missions but also to confront the forces of nature. These demands, he added, have shaped the distinctive qualities of Russian sailors, including loyalty to duty, solidarity, courage and selfless devotion to the Fatherland.<\/p>\n

Noting that Russia is bordered by 13 seas, Putin said the Navy remains indispensable to the country\u2019s national defence and security. He said it is capable of effectively carrying out the full range of assigned tasks as strategic and operational requirements continue to evolve.<\/p>\n

According to Putin, the naval component of Russia\u2019s nuclear triad is being strengthened. Serial production of warships and special-purpose vessels is continuing, while submarines, surface fleets, coastal units and naval aviation are receiving increasingly advanced weapons and equipment.<\/p>\n

He also said the professional capabilities of sailors are improving through training and combat experience. Their ability to respond rapidly to changes in strategic and tactical conditions is also continuing to develop, he added.<\/p>\n

Putin said the professionalism, resilience and courage of naval infantry and other maritime personnel are playing an important role in Russia\u2019s ongoing special military operation.<\/p>\n

Tens of thousands of sailors and officers have received high state decorations, including the Gold Star of the Hero of Russia, according to the president.<\/p>\n

Putin thanked all naval personnel for their service and contribution to strengthening Russia\u2019s maritime power, while extending Navy Day greetings to them and their families.<\/p>\n
