The Meteorological Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said that monsoon winds are currently influencing weather conditions across Nepal. The monsoon trough is located near its normal position over the eastern part of the country and north of its normal position over the western region.<\/p>\n

According to the division, the weather is generally cloudy in Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces. Partly cloudy conditions prevail in Madhesh and Bagmati provinces and in the Tarai areas of Gandaki Province.<\/p>\n

Light to moderate rainfall is currently occurring at several locations in Bagmati Province and at some places in Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali provinces.<\/p>\n

The weather is expected to remain generally cloudy across the country this afternoon. Moderate rain and snowfall are likely at a few locations in the Himalayan region, while some places in the hilly areas may receive moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.<\/p>\n

Moderate rain with thunder and lightning is also likely at some locations in the Tarai areas of Koshi and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as at a few places in Madhesh Province and the Tarai regions of Bagmati, Lumbini and Gandaki provinces.<\/p>\n

The division has forecast heavy rainfall at one or two locations in the Himalayan and hilly areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces and in the hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces.<\/p>\n

Tonight, generally cloudy conditions are expected to continue nationwide. Moderate rain and snowfall are likely at a few locations in the Himalayan and hilly regions.<\/p>\n

Some places in the Tarai areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Sudurpashchim provinces, along with a few locations in Madhesh Province and the Tarai region of Lumbini Province, may receive moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.<\/p>\n

Heavy rainfall is also possible at one or two locations in the hilly and Tarai areas of Koshi Province and the hilly regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, according to the division.<\/p>\n
