Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle is set to hold discussions with executives and senior representatives of 20 major multinational taxpayer companies operating in Nepal.<\/p>\n

The meeting is being organized as part of the Ministry of Finance\u2019s series of consultations on the implementation of the fiscal year 2083\u201384 budget. Senior foreign representatives and Nepali partners of multinational companies have been invited to participate.<\/p>\n

The discussion is scheduled to begin at noon at the Suvarna Hall of the Ministry of Finance.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, Finance Minister Wagle is expected to seek direct feedback from the companies on the challenges they face while investing and operating businesses in Nepal, the facilities provided through the budget, and opportunities for further investment expansion.<\/p>\n

The discussion will focus particularly on measures the government should take to facilitate additional investment, employment generation, improvement of the business environment, and the repatriation of returns generated from investments in Nepal.<\/p>\n

Minister Wagle will encourage company representatives to speak openly about the problems they face and the policy and administrative measures they believe are necessary for improvement. The Ministry has also asked participants to submit their concerns and recommendations in writing.<\/p>\n

The government has been conducting direct consultations with different segments of the private sector as part of efforts to strengthen implementation of the current fiscal year\u2019s budget.<\/p>\n

As part of the same consultation series, Finance Minister Wagle has already held discussions with representatives of 33 major industrial groups that operate manufacturing industries in Nepal, generate significant employment and contribute to the national economy.<\/p>\n

He has also held consultations with chief executive officers of Class \u2018A\u2019 commercial banks and executive directors of Nepal Rastra Bank on budget implementation, challenges in the financial sector and measures to expand economic activity.<\/p>\n

Through the latest dialogue with multinational companies, the government aims to identify practical difficulties faced by foreign investors, remove barriers to investment expansion and gather direct recommendations for the effective implementation of policy incentives announced in the budget.<\/p>\n
