{"id":22307,"date":"2026-08-11T07:38:08","date_gmt":"2026-08-11T01:53:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eng.dragonmedia.com.np\/?p=22307"},"modified":"2026-08-11T07:38:08","modified_gmt":"2026-08-11T01:53:08","slug":"bodies-of-three-nepalis-killed-in-broad-peak-avalanche-to-arrive-in-kathmandu-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eng.dragonmedia.com.np\/?p=22307","title":{"rendered":"<strong>Bodies of Three Nepalis Killed in Broad Peak Avalanche to Arrive in Kathmandu Today<\/strong>"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Dragon Media Correspondent<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The bodies of three Nepali citizens who died in an avalanche on Pakistan\u2019s Broad Peak are being brought to Kathmandu today.<\/p>\n<p>According to Nepal\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the bodies of Kili Pemba Sherpa \u201cKilu,\u201d Gyalu Sherpa and Nima Sherpa are scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu at 4:45 pm today on a Qatar Airways flight.<\/p>\n<p>They were caught in an avalanche in the Broad Peak area on Saun 14.<\/p>\n<p>The body of Pur Bahadur Gurung \u201cYukta,\u201d who also died in the same incident, had already been brought back to Nepal on Saun 21.<\/p>\n<p>The bodies of three others\u2014one Nepali, one Pakistani and one American climber\u2014have yet to be recovered and repatriated from the accident site.<\/p>\n<p>Broad Peak, located in Pakistan, is one of the world\u2019s mountains exceeding 8,000 metres in elevation.
