{"id":22748,"date":"2026-08-14T11:27:40","date_gmt":"2026-08-14T05:42:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eng.dragonmedia.com.np\/?p=22748"},"modified":"2026-08-14T11:27:40","modified_gmt":"2026-08-14T05:42:40","slug":"2026-future-science-prize-awarded-to-three-scientists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eng.dragonmedia.com.np\/?p=22748","title":{"rendered":"<strong>2026 Future Science Prize Awarded to Three Scientists<\/strong>"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Dragon Media News Desk<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Three scientists have won the 2026 Future Science Prize for outstanding contributions to fundamental scientific research, organizers announced in Beijing on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Zhang Hong, a researcher at the Institute of Biophysics under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, received the Life Sciences Prize for his pioneering contributions to uncovering the mechanisms and functions of autophagy, or \u201cself-eating,\u201d that are unique to multicellular organisms.<\/p>\n<p>Zhao Dongyuan, a professor at Fudan University, won the Physical Sciences Prize for his work on mesoporous materials, which are solid materials containing extremely small pores.<\/p>\n<p>Such materials play important roles in catalysis, energy conversion and storage, and biomedicine.
