Earlier on Wednesday, South Korea\u2019s Ministry of National Defense said it was unable to immediately confirm the report.<\/p>\n<p>The Joint Chiefs of Staff later formally confirmed that the exercise would conclude on August 21.<\/p>\n<p>Some field training activities planned as part of the exercise are also expected to be reduced or adjusted. Coordination is continuing over which specific drills will be modified, postponed or cancelled.<\/p>\n<p>Ulchi Freedom Shield is one of the major annual joint military exercises conducted by South Korea and the United States.
