China North Industries Group Corporation, or NORINCO Group, is set to showcase its Fuxi special-purpose humanoid robot at the 2026 World Robot Conference in Beijing, highlighting applications in reconnaissance, intelligent patrols and operations in hazardous environments.<\/p>\n

According to NORINCO, the full-size humanoid robot has been designed to operate in all-weather conditions and can be deployed in situations where sending personnel could involve significant risk. Human operators can remotely control the robot\u2019s movements in real time when necessary.<\/p>\n

The company has also developed a dedicated teleoperation system that transfers a human operator\u2019s movements to the robot, allowing personnel to remain in a safer location while the machine performs tasks on site.<\/p>\n

NORINCO describes the system as a model of human-machine coordination based on remote human control and on-site robotic operations.<\/p>\n

Fuxi was developed by an innovation institute under NORINCO. The company said the robot incorporates technologies related to human-motion sensing, motion transfer across robotic platforms and coordinated whole-body control.<\/p>\n

It is also designed to identify personnel and issue alerts when abnormal situations are detected during sentry or patrol duties.<\/p>\n

The robot is intended for reconnaissance, security patrols, inspection of hazardous areas and other tasks in which machines can substitute for personnel under difficult operating conditions.<\/p>\n

According to the company, multiple Fuxi robots can be deployed together in coordinated formations. During remote operations, each robot can reproduce the movements of a human operator in real time.<\/p>\n

The teleoperation system developed for Fuxi, known as External Avatar, is designed for full-size humanoid robots weighing around 90 kilograms. NORINCO said the system is particularly intended for high-risk and complex environments, including remote reconnaissance, unmanned operations and specialized response missions.<\/p>\n

A group of Fuxi robots is also expected to demonstrate nighttime urban inspection tasks during the World Robot Conference. The demonstration will focus on coordination among multiple robots, automated assessment of operating conditions and coordinated response.<\/p>\n

Beyond Fuxi, NORINCO is presenting a wider range of intelligent systems covering individual protection, computing and situational awareness.<\/p>\n

An affiliated institute has developed lightweight ballistic helmets and protective plates designed for applications including counterterrorism, emergency response, overseas peacekeeping and specialized training, according to the company.<\/p>\n

The institute is also showcasing a mobile edge-cloud computing system intended to support coordinated operations involving large numbers of unmanned systems.<\/p>\n

Another exhibit is an enhanced-vision system combining augmented-reality displays, low-light and infrared thermal imaging, positioning technologies and hands-free control. The system is intended to improve coordination between human operators and unmanned platforms.<\/p>\n

NORINCO is also presenting non-military robotic and intelligent products, including a walking-assistance exoskeleton, a wearable ducted-fan aircraft, a two-seat intelligent hybrid aircraft, a power-assisted towing robot and an intelligent robotic guide dog.<\/p>\n

A total of 18 NORINCO-affiliated units are taking part in the exhibition, presenting 68 products covering humanoid robots, intelligent equipment, exoskeletons, aircraft and other robotic technologies.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s World Robot Conference places increased emphasis on real-world applications of robotics rather than laboratory demonstrations alone. Fuxi reflects that broader trend, particularly in the use of humanoid robots for remote operations in environments considered dangerous or difficult for human personnel.<\/p>\n
