Dragon Media Correspondent<\/strong><\/p>\n A delegation of senior officers from India\u2019s Sashastra Seema Bal, or SSB, has visited several institutions of Nepal\u2019s Armed Police Force in Kathmandu and held meetings with senior officials at the Indian Embassy.<\/p>\n The delegation also visited the Pashupatinath Temple during its stay in Nepal.<\/p>\n The team included SSB Deputy Inspectors General Sanjay Kumar Sharma, Ashok Kumar Thakur, Mukesh Kumar, Kamal Kant, Rishikesh Sharma and Asem Hemochandra. On Bhadra 10, the delegation left its hotel in Thamel in the morning and visited the Pashupatinath Temple, remaining there until around 10 a.m.<\/p>\n The delegation later visited the Armed Police Force Nepal training academy at Matatirtha in Chandragiri Municipality-8. The officers were briefed on training structures, institutional procedures and professional capacity-building activities of the APF.<\/p>\n A day earlier, the delegation had also visited the Armed Police Force headquarters at Halchowk.<\/p>\n During that visit, the Indian team received briefings from senior APF officials, including Additional Inspectors General Banshiraj Dahal, Ganesh Thada Magar and Anjani Kumar Pokharel. Inspector General of the Armed Police Force Narayan Dutta Poudel was also present.<\/p>\n Nepal\u2019s Armed Police Force and India\u2019s SSB maintain regular institutional coordination, particularly on border management, control of cross-border crime, human trafficking, narcotics smuggling and facilitation of legitimate movement across the Nepal-India border.<\/p>\n The two forces also hold coordination meetings and professional exchanges at different levels.<\/p>\n As part of the visit, the SSB delegation also held talks at the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu.<\/p>\n The officers arrived at the embassy in Lainchaur at around 4 p.m. and met Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava and Deputy Chief of Mission Dr. Rakesh Pandey. The delegation left the embassy about an hour later.<\/p>\n The SSB is one of India\u2019s Central Armed Police Forces and is responsible for guarding India\u2019s borders with Nepal and Bhutan.<\/p>\n The visit by six DIG-level officers is therefore significant from the perspective of institutional engagement, professional exchange and security coordination between the border forces of Nepal and India.<\/p>\n
