Chinese technology giant Huawei generated 467.82 billion yuan, or about 69.6 billion U.S. dollars, in revenue during the first half of 2026, marking a 9.55 percent increase from the same period a year earlier.<\/p>\n

According to the company\u2019s semi-annual report, Huawei\u2019s research and development spending reached 121.38 billion yuan between January and June.<\/p>\n

The figure represents a 25.2 percent year-on-year increase and marks the company\u2019s highest-ever R&D expenditure for the first half of any year.<\/p>\n

Research and development spending accounted for 25.94 percent of Huawei\u2019s total revenue during the six-month period, highlighting the company\u2019s continued emphasis on technological innovation and long-term capability building.<\/p>\n

Huawei said it will continue to increase investment in key strategic areas including connectivity, computing, cloud services, consumer devices, intelligent driving and artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n

The company has also pledged to integrate artificial intelligence and cybersecurity capabilities into every product and network in an effort to strengthen performance, security and overall competitiveness.<\/p>\n

In recent years, Huawei has accelerated investment in AI computing, telecommunications technology, smart devices and intelligent vehicle solutions.<\/p>\n

The company has also placed growing emphasis on developing its own technological capabilities in semiconductors, software and computing infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Huawei reported annual revenue of 880.9 billion yuan in 2025, while its research and development spending reached 192.3 billion yuan, accounting for 21.8 percent of total revenue.<\/p>\n

With R&D spending rising to nearly 26 percent of revenue in the first half of 2026, artificial intelligence, advanced computing and indigenous technological capabilities are becoming increasingly central to Huawei\u2019s future strategy.<\/p>\n
