The system is designed to act as a fast and efficient pathway for directing quantum information to the required location inside a quantum computing architecture.<\/p>\n<p>Researchers built three independent quantum routers and a two-layer quantum routing network on Origin Wukong, China\u2019s third-generation independently developed superconducting quantum computer, and conducted a series of tests.<\/p>\n<p>The results showed that a single quantum router achieved information transmission efficiency of up to 98 percent, while the two-layer network reached an overall efficiency of 93 percent.<\/p>\n<p>In random-access tests, the average fidelity reached 94.8 percent for the single quantum router and 82.4 percent for the two-layer network. In quantum computing, fidelity indicates how accurately a quantum state can be preserved or reproduced during an operation.<\/p>\n<p>Researchers said the breakthrough provides a new approach to building scalable QRAM using existing superconducting hardware.
