Passports issued before the change that already contain children\u2019s details will remain valid until their expiration dates.<\/p>\n<p>According to the ministry\u2019s materials, the decision follows a growing tendency among certain European Union countries, which Russia classifies as unfriendly, to refuse entry to Russian minors who do not hold their own international passports, even when their details are recorded in a parent\u2019s passport.<\/p>\n<p>The change is intended to address difficulties Russian families may encounter when travelling abroad under the existing documentation arrangements.<\/p>\n<p>Although previously issued passports containing children\u2019s details will remain valid, their continued validity does not guarantee that a child will be admitted to another country without a separate passport.
